Report cards will be sent home the week after Thanksgiving for students in grades 1-5.  Kindergarten teachers will conference with parents after Thanksgiving and will provide the child's report card at the conference.

School Site Council 2011-2012

Grace Miller's School Site Council meets monthly to talk about programs, procedures, budgets and plans for the school.  Your parent representatives are: Karin Barrington, Jon Natisch, Carmen Hart, Juan Vasquez, and Matt Lyons.  If you have questions regarding School Site Council, they would be happy to help you.  We appreciate their involvement!

The Gift of Reading

Of all the gifts you could give your child, the "Gift of Reading" is most important , next to giving of your time.  A child who can read will have a whole world opened  up that would otherwise not be accessible.  How do you help your child become a reader?

Two EASY ideas:

·   Read to him/her every day - something engaging that you can enjoy together.

·   Help him/her access reading materials at the appropriate level.  Our school library is open every morning at 7:45 and is open until 2:15 M, W, Th, F after school.  It's also open during recess for students to check out books.  Our  two LA County Libraries (La Verne and San Dimas) are fabulous!  And they're FREE!

Fall Festival a HUGE Success!!

We appreciate everyone who attended and/or helped with the Family Fun Night on Oct. 26th. To kick-off the evening, we had a costume parade up Park Ave. There was a lot to eat - tacos, pizza,  ice cream, hamburgers, caramel apples, etc., and a lot to do- face painting, Fun House, entertainment, Air Force Jet ride,  jumping and bouncing,  game playing, cake-walking, and dancing, dancing, dancing!  A fantastic silent auction was also held.  Funds were raised for special programs, field trips, technology, books and supplies. We'd like to thank Mark Mollet, Michelle Shepperd and their team for all of their work.  Thanks, also, to the donors and contributors for their support:
